Set aside time each day for prayer.

Begin your quiet time by relaxing your body

opening your mind to an awareness of God.

Breathe Deeply,

knowing that you are in the presence of God and

The presence of God is within you.

Let go of your concerns and

know that all is well.

Love The highest of all....

When one's whole being is saturated with the idea of love from head to foot, then every pore of the body becomes alive to cosmic consciousness...

The highest of all religions and all practices is love.

“The prime means to end the dysfunctional dynamics of the human family is to introduce a change in all minds through an education that instills a sense of peace, so that the basic urge and peace may find its fullest expression and satisfaction.”

I Pray for Your Healing

A large number of the letters that come to Silent Unity include requests for prayers for others. Often the one requesting prayers says:  "Help me to pray for my dear one. Tell me how to pray for him, how to help him." We in  Silent  Unity  feel that  the following  meditations  will  be   helpful   to you  if  you  are  praying for someone else. They  will  help you to  lift  up your thoughts  about  the  one   for  whom you pray;  they will help you   to  realize the Truth about him.

When you   pray for another you  give him the greatest gift you have to give; and the wonderful thing about praying for someone else is that you cannot pray for another without feeling the blessing and   the good   effect of your prayers for   him  in  your own  heart, mind, and life.

I pray for your healing.

You are created in the image and likeness of God.  His life and health flow through every part of   your being. His vital energy is in every cell. His order blesses every function of your body. His breath is the breath of your life.

Whenever I think about you,   I see you as whole and   perfect. I give thanks that appearances are   not the Truth in God's sight. I give thanks that all things are possible with God. I give thanks that you are a spiritual being, that your life is "hid with Christ in God," that in Him you live and love and have your being.

As I pray for  you in  faith  and  in Truth,  I  feel a  great surge  of   healing life through my  own  being. I know that this life in which we live is omnipresent. I know that you are healed. Praise God!

Fr John Main OSB, “Religious Love,”

Fr John Main OSB, “Religious Love,” THE WAY OF UNKNOWING (New York: Crossroad, 1990), pp. 115-116.

By opening our hearts to love at the deepest and most silent level of our being, we are not repressing human knowledge or rejecting human values or relationships. On the contrary, all of these are enlightened; that is, we see them in a new light, in a transcendent light. We see a new light in them. The extraordinary thing about the Christian message is that this light is not less than the light of Christ, the light who is Christ. The call to us to enter this light is for each of us to know from our own experience. . . .that Christ’s light shines in our hearts and that the first task of our life is to be open to it, to be bathed in it, to be made whole in it and so see with it. [. . . .] Meditation is our journey to that light.

Merger

Below is a beautiful poem written by Swami Veda Bharati, with a story from Paul Emerson:

When my father died in 2006 Swami Veda gifted me with the following poem. With my mother's recent passing on Friday and Swami Veda's own passing this Monday it seems an especially appropriate sentiment.

Merger

The breath becomes one
With all the fragrant breezes,
One's little earth joins the vast expanse.
Prana merges into lightning,
The eyes now dwell in the core of the sun.
Boundaries have been demolished
And the soul is no longer held fast, fettered.
The being now takes a walk in open cosmic fields,
A flight through obstacle-free skies.

Those who are left behind
Yet confined within the boundaries of tangibles;
Not knowing the pleasure of subtle intangibles,
Irrigate the fields of the past with liquid pearls.
But the one who has flown
Is now planting fresh crops into the fields of his future.

Do not bind him to your fetters now.
Rejoice if you cannot in his freedom,
Cherish the paths traversed through the flourishing greens,
Claim no more his future harvest.
He paid all his debts before leaving,
Now claim him no more.

May the flowers of his wisdom
Remain a treasure in your mind vase.
May your wisdom guide your ever flowing sentiment
Into an ocean-ward channel,
Into a God-ward flowing stream.

I remain centered in the peace of God. 25th Day of Lent

Are you willing to give up your enemies?

Nonresistance
By Elise Cowan
Regardless of outer circumstances,
I remain centered in the peace of God.

Sometimes things don’t go the way we would like them to
go. We may feel we have been treated rudely, unkindly, or
unfairly. Yet despite outer conditions, we can choose to stay
centered in the love of God. When we do, peace permeates
our very being.

In Matthew 5:43-45, Jesus taught we are not to question
someone’s motive but to love them without judgment. “You
have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and
hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies and
pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be children
of your Father in heaven.” What happens when we love our
enemies? We no longer have enemies! When we practice
nonresistance, we allow the kingdom

Connecting with Spirituality, Karen Berg

I received this from Karen Berg of the Kabballah Center and thought it was a good thing for all of us to remember.

Connecting with Spirituality
Friday August 15, 2014
In this world, people are judged by race, money, status, religion, and a thousand other criteria that society imposes on us. As spiritual human beings, however, we need to push ourselves to have a different consciousness.

Spirituality is believing that everyone has the right to draw spiritual energy and to bring that energy into their lives and the lives of others. Spirituality is understanding that the Light force of the Creator transcends the physical world. Spirituality is realizing that the Light exists in each and every one of us. Spirituality is about caring for the welfare of others and not just looking out for ourselves.

When this is our consciousness, we can arrive at a place where we have a sense of unity with our neighbor and the blessing of Light in our lives and in the world.

The Wonderful Spirit That Is In You.

"Something in you knows that you are greater than anything you have yet experienced or expressed. This inner knowing, this feeling of potential greatness, is the spirit of God in you trying to break through. It is like sunlight that may be temporarily hidden behind clouds; but the clouds cannot take away the light. Nothing can erase or lessen the bright, glorious, wonderful spirit that is in you."

Getting started, the hardest thing to do?

Thanks you to Greg of TODO Institute for sharing this.

Sometimes the greatest challenge is to actually begin: there is something deep in us that conspires with what wants to remain within safe boundaries and stay the same. Years ago my neighbor here set out to build his new home. He had just stripped the sod off the field to begin digging out the foundation when an old man from the village happened to come by. He blessed the work and said, "You have the worst of it behind you now." My neighbor laughed and said, "But I have only just begun." The old man said, "That's what I mean. You have begun; and to make a real beginning is the most difficult act."

There is an old Irish proberb that says, "Tus maith leath na hoibre -- a good beginning is half the work." There seems to be wisdom here, when one considers all the considerations, hesitation, and uncertainty that can claim our hearts for such a long time before the actual act of beginning happens.

What is Scientific Prayer?

Here is an essay from Emmet Fox:

Scientific prayer or spiritual treatment is really the lifting of your consciousness above the level where you have met your problem. If only you can rise high enough in thought, the problem will solve itself. That is really the only problem you have-- to rise in consciousness. The more “difficult” which means more deeply rooted in your thought, is the problem concerned, the higher you will have to rise. What is called a small trouble will yield to a slight rise in consciousness. What is called a serious difficulty will require a relatively higher rise. What is called a terrible danger or hopeless problem, will require a considerable rise in consciousness to overcome it, but that is the only difference.

Do not waste time trying to straighten out your own or other people's problems by manipulating thought, that gets you nowhere, but raise your consciousness, and the action of God will do the rest.
Jesus healed sick people and reformed many sinners by raising his consciousness above the picture they presented. He controlled the winds and the waves in the same way. He raised the dead because he was able to get as high in consciousness as is necessary to do this.

To raise your consciousness you must positively withdraw your attention from the picture for the time being (The Golden Key) and then concentrate gently upon spiritual truth. You may do this by reading the Bible or any spiritual book that appeals to you, by going over any hymn or poem that helps you in this way, or by the use of one or more affirmations. Just as you like.

I know many people have secured the necessary elevation of consciousness by browsing at random through the Bible. A man I know was saved in a terrible shipwreck by quietly reading the 91st Psalm. Another man healed himself of a supposedly hopeless disease by working on the one affirmation, “God is love," until he was able to realize something of what that greatest of all statements must really mean.

If you work with affirmations, be careful not to get tense; but there is no reason why you should not employ all these methods in turn, and also any others that you can think of. Sometimes a talk with a spiritual person gives you just the lift that you need. It matters not how you rise so long as you do rise.

“I bore you on Eagles wings, and brought you onto Myself."

Divine Love and You

always will meet every human need”

I agree with Mary, do you?
